Questions We Hear From Harpurhey Residents

  1. Is it possible to get all my travel jabs at a single appointment?

In many cases, yes. Where multiple vaccines are recommended and it is clinically appropriate to give them together, we will do so at your first visit. For vaccines that require a course over several weeks, we will schedule your follow-up appointments at the same time.

  2. Do you offer the Hajj and Umrah vaccination at Higher Crumpsall Pharmacy?

Yes, we do. Our Hajj and Umrah immunisation service includes the Meningitis ACWY vaccine, which is a Saudi Arabian government requirement for all pilgrims. We can issue appropriate documentation alongside the vaccination.

  3. I have Type 2 diabetes. Can I still have travel vaccinations?

Most people with Type 2 diabetes can receive travel vaccines safely. Your clinician will review your condition during the consultation and factor it into the vaccination plan. It is important to mention any existing health conditions when you book so we can allow enough time to discuss your needs properly.
  4. How do I get to Higher Crumpsall Pharmacy from Harpurhey?

The pharmacy is at 248 Middleton Road, Manchester, M8 4WA. From Harpurhey, it is roughly 4.8 kilometres, which usually takes between ten and nineteen minutes by car. Local bus routes also connect the two areas.

  5. What countries require proof of Yellow Fever vaccination for entry?

A number of countries in Africa and South America require an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (ICVP) as a condition of entry. The list of countries can change, so we always recommend checking the current FCDO and NaTHNaC travel advisories for your specific destination before you travel. We can issue your ICVP on-site at the time of vaccination.

I use this pharmacy regularly and every time the service is friendly, polite and efficient. The interior is well laid-out, well stocked, bright, modern and functional. It has everything one would expect or hope for in a pharmacy. Well done, team. Keep up the good work.

A really helpful local pharmacy. They offer a free delivery service, which makes getting prescriptions more accessible. The staff are always friendly, helpful and professional, and the pharmacy itself is clean, tidy and has plenty of seating if you need to wait. It’s only been in the neighbourhood for about a year, so not everyone knows about it yet, but I’d definitely recommend giving it a try – you won’t be disappointed.
