What Is the Umrah Vaccination?

The umrah vaccination is a mandatory health requirement set by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health.

Every pilgrim aged 2 and above must receive the Meningitis ACWY vaccine before travelling. Without a valid certificate, you will not be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia.

Your certificate must be issued

Symptoms of Meningitis – Why the Vaccine Matters?

Meningitis is a serious infection affecting the membranes around the brain and spinal cord. It can become life-threatening within hours.

During Hajj and Umrah, millions of pilgrims gather from across the world. The risk of infection spreading is high. Vaccination is your most effective protection.

Watch out for these warning signs:

  1. Sudden high fever
  2. Severe headache
  3. Stiff neck
  4. Sensitivity to light
  5. Nausea or vomiting
  6. A rash that does not fade when pressed with a glass

If you or anyone around you develop these symptoms during your pilgrimage, seek medical help immediately.

Who Can Use This Service?

Our umrah vaccination service in Manchester is available to:

  1. All pilgrims aged 2 and above travelling for Umrah or Hajj
  2. Seasonal workers travelling to the Hajj area
  3. Anyone requiring a vaccination certificate for entry to Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Ministry of Health advises these groups to delay their pilgrimage:

  1. Adults aged 65 and above
  2. Pregnant women
  3. Children under 12
  4. Those with chronic heart, kidney, respiratory, or diabetic conditions
  5. People with immune deficiencies

Please speak to your GP before booking if any of the above apply to you.

I use this pharmacy regularly and every time the service is friendly, polite and efficient. The interior is well laid-out, well stocked, bright, modern and functional. It has everything one would expect or hope for in a pharmacy. Well done, team. Keep up the good work.

A really helpful local pharmacy. They offer a free delivery service, which makes getting prescriptions more accessible. The staff are always friendly, helpful and professional, and the pharmacy itself is clean, tidy and has plenty of seating if you need to wait. It’s only been in the neighbourhood for about a year, so not everyone knows about it yet, but I’d definitely recommend giving it a try – you won’t be disappointed.
