Infected insect bites treatment Manchester

What Is an Infected Insect Bite?

An insect bite happens when an insect pierces your skin. Most bites are harmless and heal on their own.

Sometimes a bite gets infected. Bacteria enter the wound, usually from scratching. The skin breaks and germs get in.
An infected bite needs treatment. It may not clear up on its own.

Common insects that bite in Manchester:

  • Mosquitoes
  • Fleas
  • Midges
  • Wasps and bees
  • Ants

Symptoms of an Infected Insect Bite

Common signs:

  • Redness spreads from the bite.
  • Increasing pain and swelling
  • Pus or yellow fluid oozing out
  • Bite feels warm or hot to the touch.
  • Symptoms get worse, not better.

Get help fast if you notice:

  • Red streaks spreading from the bite
  • Swollen glands
  • Fever or chills
  • Area larger than a golf ball

In children: Constant scratching, crying when bitten, trouble sleeping.

I use this pharmacy regularly and every time the service is friendly, polite and efficient. The interior is well laid-out, well stocked, bright, modern and functional. It has everything one would expect or hope for in a pharmacy. Well done, team. Keep up the good work.

A really helpful local pharmacy. They offer a free delivery service, which makes getting prescriptions more accessible. The staff are always friendly, helpful and professional, and the pharmacy itself is clean, tidy and has plenty of seating if you need to wait. It’s only been in the neighbourhood for about a year, so not everyone knows about it yet, but I’d definitely recommend giving it a try – you won’t be disappointed.
