Hajj and Umrah Immunisations

At Higher Crumpsall Pharmacy and Travel Clinic, we know your pilgrimage is a significant and spiritual journey. Whether you’re travelling for Hajj or Umrah, it’s vital to take the right health precautions to stay protected and meet Saudi Arabian entry requirements.

With millions of pilgrims gathered from around the world, the risk of infectious disease is higher. That’s why we offer essential vaccinations—including the MenACWY vaccine with official certification—along with expert travel health advice to help you prepare with confidence.

Required Vaccinations for Hajj & Umrah

To enter Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage, certain vaccinations are mandatory:

✅ Meningitis (ACWY) – Required

The Meningococcal ACWY vaccine is a legal requirement for all pilgrims over the age of 2. A certificate of vaccination is needed and must be administered at least 10 days before travel. The certificate is valid for 5 years.

We provide the MenACWY vaccine and issue a certified vaccination certificate accepted by Saudi authorities.

✅ Recommended Vaccines

In addition to the meningitis vaccine, the following are strongly recommended:

  • Seasonal Influenza (Flu) Vaccine
Especially important for older adults or those with underlying health conditions.

  • COVID-19 Vaccination
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may still be recommended, depending on travel guidance.

  • Hepatitis A & B
Due to shared facilities and close contact during the pilgrimage.

  • Tetanus, Diphtheria & Polio (Td/IPV booster)
Especially if it has been more than 10 years since your last dose.

  • Typhoid
Particularly for those staying longer or eating outside major hotels.
